The Leading Care Company and the TLC team who organise everything from our head office, plus all of our carers who are helping our clients and supporting their families every day.

Kieran Rabbitt

Director and Safeguarding Lead

I have 24 years experience in healthcare settings having qualified as an optometrist in 2000. I founded the company upon a desire to use my experience in care, professional clinical settings and domestic work to grow a brilliant team to make a true difference in care and in our community. Having carried out domiciliary care for a number of years as an optometrist I wanted to set a new standard in home care.

Abi Canvin

Registered Care Manager / Safeguarding Lead / A Caldicott Guardian

Abi used to work in customer service, but after seeing the compassion and care from staff looking after her mum who has early onset dementia, she decided to become a care worker.

After starting as a care assistant for a care company, she excelled and became the training manager, before. becoming a registered manager responsible for the operational day-today management of the service.

Abi said: “I wanted to make a difference, and hopefully I have done that with the support of such a great, compassionate, caring, and dedicated team. I have been extremely fortunate within the industry and would advise anyone who wants a change or wants to make even the smallest difference to someone’s life; this is the industry to be in. It’s by far the most rewarding job I have ever had.”

Working for TLC has been life changing, I could not have chosen a better more supportive company to work for.

Claire McLaughlin

Assistant Manager/ Registered Nurse/ Clinical Lead/ Infection Prevention Control Lead

I have worked in care since 1997. I started working as a support worker while training to become a qualified learning disabilities nurse. Once qualified I took up a nursing post working with children who had complex medical needs until I left in 2019 to join The Leading Care Company. I initially joined TLC as a community supervisor and progressed to become the Assistant Manager. During this time I have had the opportunity to work closely with others from the care sector and develop connections that I am still in contact with and am able to access to support clients when required.

I made the decision to leave the NHS and join The Leading Care Company to give myself a new challenge and have been made to feel welcome from the start. I have been supported by everyone at TLC to transfer the skills I already had from my time nursing and to develop ways to use them in the community setting, as well as continue to develop them further. I believe that I have developed since joining TLC and do not regret the decision I made in any way all those years ago.

Jade Canvin (Safeguarding Lead)

Quality Assurance Manager/ Safeguarding Lead/ DPO (Data Protection Officer)

I have been in care for over 8 years now, I choose to work in care as it was very flexible around my family, I was also massively influenced by my mum who also worked in care and would come home smiling after her shifts, she really seemed to enjoy her role as a care worker. 8 years later and I have carved out a career for myself within the industry, starting as a care worker, moving on to a more senior role, becoming a coordinator and finally the quality and compliance manager, I have enjoyed every aspect of my various roles, it has enabled me to have an understanding of every angle of the care industry.

I choose TLC as I knew from my very first interview that this was the right place for me to continue my career, everyone was welcoming and friendly. I believe I can add to this great team and really make a difference too the lives of our clients that we support.

Zoia Khan

Accounts Administrator/ Medication Lead

I used to work in retail before joining TLC four years ago, this was a massive change in career for me however being part of a care company felt right, I enjoy helping people and making a difference.

I choose to work for TLC for a change, for better opportunities, flexibility most importantly it fits in with future plans and goals. This is a great place to come if you would like to progress, challenge yourself and really feel part of a team then TLC is the perfect place of work.

Daisy Haslam at The Leading Care Company

Daisy Haslam

Recruitment and Training Manager

My passion for the care industry is deeply personal. Growing up with two disabled brothers—one of whom requires live in support from a live-in carer—I have seen firsthand the life-changing impact that compassionate, skilled, and dependable care can have on an individual and their family. These experiences shaped my belief that high-quality care is not just a service, but a lifeline.

Because of this, I am committed to helping find the right people for the right roles. I understand how essential it is that carers are not only kind and resilient, but also thoroughly trained, confident, and equipped to meet the needs of the people they support. Ensuring that every team member receives the best possible training is central to the values I hold; it is the foundation of safe, dignified, and person-centred care.

My mission is to contribute to a care workforce that empowers clients, supports families, and upholds the highest standards of practice. With a strong personal connection to the world of care, I am driven every day to make a positive difference—one well-trained, well-matched professional at a time.

Ryan Carville

Quality Auditor

I studied Accounting & Finance at the University of Southampton before beginning my career in a hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic, where I was in the medical records department as they were attempting to digitalize their records.

I later moved into Quality assurance, gaining a strong understanding of regulatory standards and safe practice where I began my career as a Quality Assurance Assistant and was later promoted to Quality Officer in a company that worked alongside pharmaceutical companies. I’ve also spent time as a caregiver for family members that have inspired me to work within the care sector.

I chose to work at TLC because of my compassion and desire to make a difference where we support our clients with high quality & person-centered care.

Hollie McColgan

Community Field Care Supervisor

I am the Community Field Care Supervisor with almost nine years of experience within the health and social care sector. I began my career at the age of 16 working in a care home where my grandfather was a resident, which inspired my passion for providing compassionate, person-centred care.

After obtaining my driving licence at 17, I moved into domiciliary care before joining the ambulance service at 19, where I spent two years supporting patients from a wide range of backgrounds and with varying care needs.

Following a short career break to welcome my daughter, I returned to the ambulance service in a coordination role, managing the flow of ambulances in and out of hospital settings.

Now back in community care, I am proud to support individuals who need it most while also helping to develop and empower care team to be the best they can be.
